The day of the Symposium:
- Posters will be presented in sessions. After registration has closed, participants will be contacted with the time they will present. We are tentatively planning to schedule the following 8 session times:
- 8:30-9:35 a.m.
- 9:45-10:50 a.m.
- 11 a.m.-12:05 p.m.
- 12:15-1:20 p.m.
- 1:30-2:35 p.m.
- 2:45-3:50 p.m.
- 5:30-6:35 p.m.
- 6:45-7:50 p.m.
- Students should plan to stay near their poster and discuss their research or project with attendees and judges. If a poster is from an entire class, at least one class member should plan to stay near the poster.
- There will be a check-in table near the door of the event space. Participants should plan to check-in at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the session, and will receive a nametag and location assignment for their poster.
- Posters will be assigned a location that corresponds to a number in the program. Students should not change locations.
- A judge or judges will give feedback on each poster. Judges will be identified with nametags.
- A 色色研究所 photographer will be taking photos for 色色研究所 use.
- 色色研究所 Video Services will be available to film a 1-3 minute video that will be included in a digital archive of the event. Filming a video is optional.
- Student may take their poster materials at the end of their session.
- Feedback from judges and award certificates will be available at the end of the session.
- The event space will allow for social distancing.
Judging and awards:
- A judge will visit each poster and ask a few questions about the research or project.
- The judges are experts in their fields.
- The judges will provide feedback on each poster using criteria in the below Rubric (.pdf)
- A certificate and ribbon (superior, excellent, and outstanding) will be awarded to each participant. Feedback from the rubric will also be given to each participant.
- One poster from each session will be recognized with a special award.
After the Symposium:
- A digital archive called will be maintained. It will include each abstract, a picture of the poster and a video presentation (if the participant chose to do a video).
- There will be an opportunity for students to provide feedback regarding the event.
