Paramedic Internship Requirements

The Paramedic Program requires the completion of internships caring for patients in clinical and field environments. Our affiliate agencies will require drug screening, complete background checks, health care worker registry, and valid health care insurance coverage. The internship sites also have requirements that students require proof of vaccination. All students entering the Paramedic program will need to provide proof of immunization and/or immunity for the following:

  • Hepatitis B series and Immunity – One of the following is required:
    • 3 vaccinations or
    • A signed declination waiver
  •  Measles, Mumps, Rubella – One of the following is required:
    • 2 vaccinations or
    • Positive antibody titer for all 3 components
  • Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Acellular Pertussis)
    • Submit documentation of Tdap or booster within the past 10 years
  • Varicella Zoster Virus (Chicken Pox) – One of the following is required:
    • 2 vaccinations or
    • Positive antibody titer
  • Flu vaccine
    • Must obtain vaccine during fall semester of 1st year
  • TB screening – One of the following is required:
    • 2 Step TB Skin Test (administered 1-3 weeks apart)
    • QuantiFeron Gold Blood test (Lab report required)
    • IGRA blood test (Lab report required)
  • COVID-19 – Documentation of two COVID vaccines or signed declination/exemption waivers
